Snape and McGonagall by ehay Snape and McGonagall by ehay
I think they're talking about Quidditch. (Or rather, Snape is commenting on the fact that the Slytherin team has beat Gryffindor yet again and how he won't need to return the Quidditch Cup for another year in a row.)

Of course, I suppose it could be the part where Snape is using his mad mind-reading powers to find out whether Harry's returned to look for a horcrux.

Ooh. That battle would be fun to draw...

Wow, I love this. I love how there's like depth to them (if that makes sense? Lol, I don't know what I'm talking about. :XD:). The lines just look really deep, especially on McGonagall's profile.

Your character design for McG is awesome. She looks sharp and intelligent, while still looking feminine.

I think if the subject were Quidditch, there would be more smirking going on.

You think Severus and Minerva are the same height? I see Severus as being of average height, which for a man in the UK is about 5'9", but that's quite tall for a woman. I don't think Minerva's height is ever mentioned, so she's probably somewhere in the average range--say somewhere between 5'2" (low-average) and 5'6" (high-average.)

J,K Rowling's descriptor for Harry's impression of cGonagall in the first book is 'tall' and 'severe-looking'. Grant you; most adults would be tall to a malnourished child of 11 and I'm separated from my books at present so am unable to double-check.

Fans, some input if you please? Is McGonagall actually Hobbit-sized?

Five-foot-four isn't hobbit-sized; it's average height for women in the US and UK. Since she is, however, described as "tall" (Thanks for the citation!), she's probably at least five-seven. That would put her a bit below eye-to-eye with Severus (assuming he's five-nine), but not much. Maybe she's wearing two-inch heels. ;)

Forgive me - in my world, anyone shorter than me is 'not-tall' (aka: hobbit-sized) and anyone above my height is 'tall'. ;)

And look! Snape's bending down slightly in the picture, so there seems to be a few inches difference between their heights.

I'll accept the heels idea as canon. :)
